Part of NBA All-Star 2005 held in Denver, Colo., the event features a special halftime performance by R&B singer Ciara and a star-studded lineup. Nelly and Ice Cube, along with TV stars Danny Masterson of "That '70s Show" and Donald Faison of "Scrubs," will shoot hoops with NBA and WNBA players throughout the evening.
The week of activities showcases some of the world's greatest athletes on an international stage and their commitment to community. Top players from the Eastern and Western conferences go head to head playing the 2005 NBA All-Star Game, which will be televised at 8 p.m. ET Sunday on TNT.Other celebrity participants include Sugar Ray, Mark McGrath, Jermaine Dupri, Grammy Award-winning artist Brian McKnight, "Entertainment Tonight" correspondent Kevin Frazier, "Blind Date" host Roger Lodge and professional skateboarder Eric Koston.
NBA players Andre Miller and Earl Boykins will serve as the celebrity teams' head coaches, joined by WNBA players Lisa Leslie, Diana Taurasi, Becky Hammon and Nykesha Sales. Actresses Vivica A. Fox and Gabrielle Union have been added as assistant coaches for the game. Acting as general managers are ESPN studio analysts Greg Anthony and Stephen A. Smith.
Other activities include live music at Jam Session and two slam-dunk contests, one with Sprite's Rising Stars and one with mascots. Also, Reebok, the exclusive uniform supplier of the NBA, will introduce a new line of NBA swingman argyle jerseys outfitted for the celebrities.
