Wildcats, Longhorns compete for best would-be team

ESPN Illustration

We've reached the championship game in the best college basketball teams that never were bracket, and the top two seeds are still standing.

The 2010-12 Kentucky Wildcats disposed of UCLA on Wednesday and feature two No. 1 overall picks in John Wall and Anthony Davis. The 2006-08 Texas Longhorns, who took out Duke's 2014-16 team on Wednesday, aren't as deep, but their roster features two of the NBA's brightest stars in Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge.

Please note: Each would-be team draws players from a two or three-season window -- for example, in the case of 2010-12 Kentucky, the three seasons that end in 2010, '11 and '12.
