Fenner with 21 points, Nevada downs Utah State 89-84
LOGAN, Utah -- D.J. Fenner scored 21 points to lead five players in double figures as Nevada downed Utah State 89-84 on Saturday night.
Marqueze Coleman added 20 points for the Wolf Pack (13-8, 5-4 Mountain West Conference). Tyron Criswell had 19 points, Cameron Oliver had 16 points and Eric Cooper Jr. chipped in 13.
Criswell sank a pair of 3-pointers and Oliver hit another as part of an 11-2 run midway through the first half that gave Nevada a 27-22 lead with 8:19 to go before halftime.
Utah State trailed by 14 at the break and opened the second half on a 17-10 run that closed the gap to seven, 59-52, with 15:36 to go. The Aggies (11-9, 3-6) tied it 78-78 on a jumper by Shane Rector with 3:19 left but could not overtake the Wolf Pack in the stretch.
Chris Smith scored 19 points for Utah State.
