Larry Fitzgerald was limited in practice for the Cardinals Wednesday because of a groin injury, but you get the feeling he's going to try to play. It appears that Anquan Boldin will miss Sunday's make-or-break game against Seahawks because of a dislocated toe. It's going to be hard to find the right padding in a shoe to allow him to play with the toe as bad as it is. Fitzgerald missed last week's game against Cleveland because of the groin injury but he wants to be out there with his teammates. As one of the receiving leaders in yardage, the Cardinals need him if they want to have a chance to stay in the NFC West race with the Seahawks. The Seahawks could clinch the division if they beat the Cardinals Sunday.

K.C. considering Croyle: Herm Edwards is jumping at the thoughts of announcing Brodie Croyle as his starting quarterback, and he's wise in being cautious. Croyle missed last week's game because of a back injury but he returned to practice Wednesday and could be healthy enough to play Sunday against the Chargers. Edwards is concerned about putting him back in and risking him to further injury. The Chiefs were down three veteran tackles because of injuries and personal problems. Putting a young quarterback with an injury with a suspect offensive line because of injuries is a recipe for disaster. There's still a good chance Croyle will start, but Edwards needs to monitor the health of his tackles to see if it's wise to start him. He could go to the experienced Damon Huard.

McCown likely to start: Daunte Culpepper missed Wednesday's practice because of the quad injury, so there is a decent chance Josh McCown will start against the Packers. There is also a decent chance JaMarcus Russell won't be on the field at all. Russell made a successful debut against the Chiefs Sunday in a limited role, but Lane Kiffin is reluctant to play Russell against the Packers in a cold environment on the road. If Culpepper isn't healthy, that means Andrew Walter might be the backup.

Adams hunt is on: One team possibly interested in defensive tackle Sam Adams is the Green Bay Packers. The Packers were checking around about Adams after he was released by the Broncos Tuesday. Adams cleared waivers and is a free agent. Because of the season ending injury to defensive tackle Colin Cole and the bad shoulder of Johnny Jolly, Adams could be a big option to help the Packers down the stretch.

Playing it cautious: Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison continues to improve and is doing more and more in practice each day. Still, that probably means he will sit out this week's game against the Ravens. Because he's missed so much time, Harrison has to get himself into game condition, which could delay his return until next week against the Raiders. The Colts continue to be concerned about swelling in his knee and want to make sure they don't get him back too early and have him hurt the knee. They want Harrison for the playoffs.
