Anthony Rizzo back for the Cubs

MLB, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds

CHICAGO -- Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo is in the lineup for Monday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds for the first time since injuring his back late last month.

Shortly after hitting his career-high 30th home run of the season in Cincinnati, Rizzo's back tightened up on him during a long rain delay. He finished the game but has missed the last 18 contests.

Also returning to the lineup after a three-day paternity leave is right fielder Jorge Soler. Rizzo and Soler haven't appeared in a lineup together as Rizzo injured his back the day before Soler debuted, also in Cincinnati.

Rizzo is hitting .278 with 30 home runs and 71 RBIs on the season, while Soler has gotten off to a hot start in his short career, hitting .356 with nine extra base hits, including four home runs, in 45 at-bats.

Still missing from the Cubs lineup is shortstop Starlin Castro. He has a high ankle sprain and isn't expected to play again this season, but the Cubs aren't ruling out a return as he continues rehabbing.

Rizzo will bat third Monday, and Soler is slotted in the cleanup spot. The Cubs went 6-12 without Rizzo in the lineup.
