BERKELEY, Calif. -- California kickoff returner Trevor Davis was taken to the hospital after being removed from the field on a stretcher when he was injured on a kickoff return in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 36-34 loss to UCLA. Davis stayed down on the turf for a long time after appearing to take a knee to the helmet during a tackle by Charles Dawson. While the trainers were tending to him, Davis' teammates showed concern as they kneeled on the field, and the crowd chanted, "Tre-vor Da-vis! Tre-vor Da-vis!"  It was not immediately clear how seriously he was injured. Davis was able to move his legs and was seen talking. He gave a thumbs up to the crowd as he was taken away on a cart. "He said he felt OK," coach Sonny Dykes said. "He's going to the hospital but certainly signs from the field all looked good." "That was kind of scary to see," Cal quarterback Jared Goff said. "It was tough having to go out there and try to put a drive together." UCLA coach Jim Mora began his news conference by sending good wishes to Davis. "You just hate to see anybody go down,'' Mora said. "When you have to bring the cart out it just brings everything into perspective. These are kids playing a game that they love.
