BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Longtime college assistant coach Rob Ianello is joining Lance Leipold's new staff in Buffalo on a full-time basis.

Ianello was named associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, and will also coach receivers. He previously served as a voluntary adviser at Buffalo since Leipold was hired last month.

Ianello has more than 25 years of coaching experience at the college level, and is regarded a top recruiter. He spent the previous two years as recruiting coordinator and receivers coach at Kansas.

Ianello previously worked as an assistant Alabama, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Arizona.

He and Leipold's were members of the same staff at Wisconsin from 1991-93.

Buffalo, a Mid-American Conference program, hired Leipold out of Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he went 109-6 and won six national championships in eight seasons.
