LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska reserve quarterback Johnny Stanton is transferring. Coach Mike Riley said Stanton told him about his decision Thursday. Stanton took limited snaps in two games as a redshirt freshman last season and was among five scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. Recruiting services ranked Stanton among the top 15 dual-threat quarterbacks when he was coming out of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, in 2013. Riley also announced that redshirt freshman receiver Glenn Irons would not be on the team this fall.
