Avery Peterson announces decision to transfer to Cincinnati

Former LSU wide receiver Avery Peterson said Wednesday he will transfer to Cincinnati.

"This is the right spot for me because I have a great relationship with Coach [Eddie] Gran," Peterson said. "He recruited me out of high school, and this is a good football team. This team is on the rise."

Peterson, who is 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, played in only one game last season as a redshirt freshman after arriving at LSU as a four-star recruit in 2012 and sitting out all of 2013. He first announced his departure from LSU in a July 7 post on Facebook.

Peterson is the younger brother of Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, who also played at LSU.
