Jared Crump out for year with ACL tear

Wake Forest wide receiver Jared Crump is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Crump, the team's top returning receiver, was injured during practice last week. An MRI showed the tear, coach Dave Clawson said Sunday.

Crump had 32 receptions for 339 yards and a touchdown last season. His absence leaves Jonathan Williams and Tyree Harris as the only receivers to catch passes for Wake Forest.

With Crump out, redshirt freshman Cortez Lewis and South Carolina transfer K.J. Brent will be counted on take on bigger roles.
