Maryland suspends RB Wes Brown indefinitely

Maryland running back Wes Brown, coming off his first start of the season, was again suspended for violating the university's code of conduct, it was announced Monday.

The school did not divulge the exact nature of his offense, only listing the suspension as indefinite.

Brown, who rushed for 52 yards on 12 carries in the Terps' 24-7 loss to Michigan State on Saturday, also was suspended for the entire 2013 season after he was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer.

The case was later dropped, and he was reinstated in 2014.

Brown has rushed for 317 yards and three TDs this season, averaging 4.5 yards per carry. The redshirt junior has rushed for 1,055 yards and 11 touchdowns on 264 attempts in his three seasons.

Senior running back Brandon Ross, who has rushed for 540 yards and four TDs this season, has returned to the top spot on the depth chart as Maryland faces Indiana on Saturday.
