Clemson will travel to play Florida State on Oct. 29, the highlight of the schedule released by the ACC on Tuesday.

Both teams are expected to be College Football Playoff contenders in 2016 -- Clemson already has the No. 1 spot in the Way-Too-Early Top 25.

Among the other highlights:

Boston College will face Georgia Tech in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, on Sept. 3, a game announced previously.

That is one of five neutral-site games for the ACC: Florida State versus Ole Miss in the Orlando Kickoff Game on Labor Day night, Sept. 5; North Carolina versus Georgia on Sept. 3 in the annual Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta's Georgia Dome; Virginia Tech versus Tennessee at the Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 10; and Syracuse versus Notre Dame at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Oct. 1.

The league also will have four Thursday night games on ESPN, starting with Clemson at Georgia Tech on Sept. 22. Five Friday night games also are on the schedule, including NC State at North Carolina the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 25).

In all, ACC teams will play 12 games against nonconference teams that appeared in the final Associated Press Top 25. Five are against Notre Dame as part of the league's scheduling arrangement with the school.
