KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A charge of driving under the influence against Tennessee offensive lineman Charles Mosley has been dropped.
Knox County General Sessions Court Judge Andrew Jackson dismissed DUI and speeding charges against Mosley after a preliminary hearing Thursday. Knox County Assistant District Attorney General Sean McDermott said the judge didn't find probable cause to send the case to a grand jury.
Mosley's arrest warrant said he was driving on Interstate 40 on July 22 at 1:51 a.m. when he was stopped for driving 79 mph in a 55-mph zone. The warrant stated that Mosley "performed poorly" in a field sobriety test and that a search of his vehicle revealed marijuana residue.
Mosley redshirted in 2014 with a broken tibia. He played 12 games as a reserve guard last season.
