Irish OL Boudreux hospitalized for unknown condition

College Football, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame freshman offensive lineman Parker Boudreaux was admitted to a South Bend hospital Sunday for an undisclosed condition.

Football spokesman Michael Bertsch told The South Bend Tribune that Boudreaux was in stable condition and resting comfortably Sunday evening. Because of student privacy laws, no other information could be released, though the paper said Boudreaux's condition was not considered to be life-threatening.

Boudreaux's teammates gave the Notre Dame community a scare Sunday afternoon by posting on social media that Boudreaux was hospitalized with a serious brain infection and asked for prayers for the freshman.

At least one of the tweets was removed and one teammate later tweeted: "Apologize for alarming everyone. Didn't have all the information. Parker is going to be OK. Excited for him to be back with us soon."

Boudreaux tweeted Sunday: "Not doing that well. Thank you for all the prayers. I really do appreciate it."

He also posted a picture of Notre Dame's golden dome on Instagram with the message: "Thank y'all so much for all of the prayers. I really do appreciate it. Gotta stay in the hospital for at least 2-3 more days. Not feeling that well."
