Trevone Boykin to have procedure

TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin is expected to have a procedure to repair a fractured bone in his non-throwing wrist, coach Gary Patterson told reporters.

Boykin plans to participate in spring drills before undergoing the procedure the final week of spring drills. He played through the injury for much of last season, wearing a soft cast.

"We're going to make sure that gets fixed right," Patterson said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "He won't go through the last three practices of spring, three or four. We'll get that done so he's ready to go come August."

TCU starts its spring practice Friday.
