Each week, I write about the sport I love, college basketball: • After learning that diaper dandy Jonah Bolden was academically ineligible, UCLA got some more bad news. Jon Octeus, a transfer from Colorado State, was denied admission into the school. Those are two big blows for coach Steve Alford. • Missouri had two diaper dandies suspended after their arrests on suspicion of assault. Jakeenan Gant and D'Angelo Allen are not involved in team activities at the moment. • I'm happy to see Charlotte coach Alan Major back at work. He was out because of health issues. It's also nice to see Providence guard Kris Dunn back after a shoulder injury last season. • It is not easy to adjust from the America East to the Big 12. That is why I will keep an eye on guard Justin Edwards of Kansas State. The 6-foot-4 redshirt sat last season after transferring from Maine. Edwards averaged more than 15 PPG when he last played for the Black Bears. • I recently looked at San Diego State's schedule, and there are a few interesting games early on its slate. The Aztecs host a tough Utah team early on. There is a test against BYU in Maui followed by a potential showdown against Pittsburgh. And Steve Fisher's squad will be challenged on the road at Cincinnati in mid-December.
