• The NCAA Tournament Selection Committee made a great decision, moving its meeting from Indianapolis to New York City. It will garner even greater exposure with this move.
• Rhode Island's chances of winning the A-10 were dealt a serious blow. Guard E.C. Matthews, one of the league's top players, was lost for the season with a knee injury.
• If the first few days of college basketball were any indication, we're in for a treat...Look at this list:

• The field is set for the 2017 Maui Invitational. California, Chaminade, LSU, Marquette, Michigan, Notre Dame, Virginia Commonwealth and Wichita State are in the competitive field.
• It's about time as the NCAA finally got it right on Tacko Fall and made him eligible. Now they need to do same for Kansas' Cheick Diallo.
• Congrats to NC State coach Mark Gottfried on his five-year extension. Unfortunately his Wolfpack was stunned by William & Mary.
