Andrej Sekera dealt to Kings

The Los Angeles Kings have finalized a trade for defenseman Andrej Sekera.

The Carolina Hurricanes will receive a conditional first-round pick and prospect Roland McKeown from Los Angeles for the pending unrestricted free-agent defenseman.

The Hurricanes will receive the pick in this year's draft if the Kings make the playoffs. If Los Angeles misses the playoffs, Carolina will receive the team's 2016 first-round pick instead.

Sekera, one of the top names on the trade market, has two goals and 17 assists in 57 games this season.

"We appreciate Andrej's contributions to our organization on and off the ice over the past two seasons," Hurricanes general manager Ron Francis said in a statement. "He is a good player and an even better person."
