BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana sophomore guard Stanford Robinson will transfer to another school in hopes of finding more playing time.

Coach Tom Crean made the announcement Wednesday, less than a week after the Hoosiers' season ended with a loss to Wichita State in their NCAA tournament opener.

The 6-foot-4 Robinson says he also wants to play closer to his Maryland home.

In two seasons with the Hoosiers, Robinson averaged 4.7 points. He played 11.4 minutes per game this past season after averaging 16.9 minutes as a freshman. Robinson also was suspended for the first four games, including two exhibition games, after failing an offseason drug test.

Crean says Robinson grew and matured during his two seasons in Bloomington. Robinson says Crean helped him become "a better man."
