Major League Baseball says it raised more than $175,000 during last week's Winter Meetings through an auction for a lung cancer-focused nonprofit.
The largest auction was for $11,026.67 for a meet-and-greet with New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, along with the opportunity to watch a regular-season game from his suite.
The 2014 auction was done in memory of former Baltimore Orioles public relations director Monica Barlow, who died in February and was a supporter of the nonprofit, LUNGevity.
LUNGevity was founded in 2001 by seven lung cancer survivors.
The Winter Meetings auction began three years ago and has raised more than $450,000 for cancer research. Proceeds from previous years' auctions were donated to Stand Up To Cancer.
