Houston Astros fans in the left-field concourse of Minute Maid Park were treated to a new item at the funnel cake stand on Tuesday, as George Springer launched a first-inning foul ball toward the area that bounced its way into the deep fryer.

No fans (or funnel cakes) were harmed by the baseball, but the stand was shut down as a result of the incident. Root Sports' Julia Morales was able to track down the ball a few innings later, noting that it smelled like grease and was still "really warm."
Springer made up for shutting down the funnel cake stand by going 3-for-4 with two walks in the Astros' 3-2 13-inning win over the Baltimore Orioles.
On Wednesday, the Astros honored the deep-fried foul ball with a new Springer Splash Funnel Cake.
