Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Ryan Vogelsong, who suffered an injury to his left eye after he was hit in the head by a pitch earlier this week, was released from the hospital Thursday.
He immediately went to PNC Park to watch his teammates take on the Arizona Diamondbacks, his wife tweeted.
Straight from the hospital to the game, can't keep him away. Thanks to the Pirates medical staff & AGH... pic.twitter.com/3M7sQPRAdh

Vogelsong was taken to Allegheny General Hospital with facial fractures -- including to his orbital bone -- after getting struck in the head by a pitch from Colorado Rockies right-hander Jordan Lyles during Monday's game.
The 38-year-old pitcher fell to the ground and stayed there until Pittsburgh head athletic trainer Todd Tomcyzk attended to him. He did not lose consciousness, and he was carted off the field before being taken to the hospital by ambulance.
He was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.
