Cubs expect to get Anthony Rizzo back, be without Ben Zobrist on Saturday

MLB, Chicago Cubs

MIAMI -- Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo should be back in the lineup Saturday against the Miami Marlins after missing the past two games with back tightness.

Meanwhile, second baseman Ben Zobrist is likely out after getting hit in the foot by a pitch from reliever Mike Dunn in the seventh inning of the Cubs' 5-4 win over Miami on Friday.

"I wasn't comfortable trying to run the bases," Zobrist said after the win. "That's why I came out of the game."

Zobrist had X-rays, which were negative. The Cubs are calling it a non-serious contusion on the back of his left foot.

Rizzo came out of Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals and had been listed as day-to-day. Friday was the first time since Wednesday he was available off the bench.

"He was ready to hit tonight," manager Joe Maddon said. "As of right now, there is a solid chance he'll play tomorrow."

The Cubs broke a four-game losing streak with Friday's win and have battled nagging injuries lately. Leadoff man Dexter Fowler, left fielder Jorge Soler and pinch hitter Tommy La Stella are all on the disabled list with hamstring issues. This is the second time this season Rizzo has had tightness in his back.
