Nats pitcher Stephen Strasburg will miss another start

MLB, Washington Nationals

Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg will not make his scheduled start Sunday after an upper-back injury flared up. The Nats instead will start Tanner Roark in the series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The right-handed Strasburg was originally set to take the mound on Sunday against the Brewers after skipping his last scheduled appearance with an upper-back strain, but he felt pain in his back during a warm-up session before Saturday's game. Nationals manager Dusty Baker said Strasburg is day-to-day.

"He went down to warm up and felt it again, in the same area,'' Baker said.

Strasburg was scratched from an anticipated showdown against Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw on Monday, won by the Dodgers 4-1. Strasburg is 10-0 with a 2.90 ERA in 14 starts this season.

The Brewers handed Washington its season-high seventh straight loss with a 6-5 victory over the Nationals on Saturday.
