Michael Frazier II to opt for draft

Florida guard Michael Frazier II is expected to bypass his senior season and enter the NBA draft, sources told ESPN.com on Thursday.

The 6-foot-4 Frazier, who averaged 12.1 points and 4.1 rebounds this past season, is known as an excellent 3-point shooter, although his numbers took a hit this past season. Frazier shot 38.0 percent from behind the arc in 2014-15, after knocking down 46.8 and 44.7 percent his first two seasons in Gainesville.

Frazier could get looks as a second-round pick in June's NBA draft. ESPN NBA Insider Chad Ford has him ranked No. 84 in the top 100.

With Frazier gone, Florida coach Billy Donovan will have to rely more heavily on incoming freshman KeVaughn Allen and redshirt freshman Brandone Francis, who sat out the 2014-15 season. The Gators were 16-17 this past season, one year after reaching the Final Four.
