D-League teammates fight each other

NBA, Memphis Grizzlies

Iowa Energy teammates Jarnell Stokes and Kalin Lucas were both ejected during an NBA Developmental League game Tuesday night for fighting -- with each other.

It is unknown as to what caused the incident, but punches were thrown after both players started pushing each other near the bench during a timeout in the third quarter of the Energy's 124-120 victory against Rio Grande Valley.

Teammates and coaches quickly surrounded and tried to separate both players, who were then escorted to the locker room and did not return. Referees ejected both players after checking a replay of the incident.

Stokes, a forward, is averaging 14.1 points and 8.6 rebounds for the Memphis Grizzlies affiliate, and has seen action in 16 NBA games this season. Lucas, a guard who was selected in the second round of last year's draft by the Grizzlies, is averaging 16.5 points and 4.9 assists for the Energy this season.

The Energy says it is working with the NBADL to investigate the incident.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
