NBA, San Antonio Spurs, Orlando Magic, Utah Jazz

SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Spurs have added former Orlando Magic coach Jacque Vaughn to their front office as a pro scout, the team announced Tuesday.

Vaughn, 40, served as head coach of the Magic the past three seasons, becoming the NBA's second-youngest head coach when he was hired in 2012. Before coaching the Magic, Vaughn spent two seasons (2010-12) as an assistant coach for the Spurs under Gregg Popovich.

In his 12 years as an NBA player, Vaughn averaged 4.5 points and 2.5 assists in 776 games.

A standout at Kansas as a collegian, Vaughn was selected 27th overall in the 1997 draft by the Utah Jazz, where he played his first four seasons.

Vaughn also played for the Atlanta Hawks, Magic and Nets prior to signing in 2006 with the Spurs, where he played his final three seasons. Vaughn played on San Antonio's 2007 championship team before retiring after the 2008-09 season.
