Anders Lee, Islanders agree to deal

NHL, New York Islanders

The New York Islanders have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with forward Anders Lee, the team announced Tuesday.

The deal is for a total of $15 million, sources told ESPN.

The 24-year-old winger is coming off a spectacular rookie season in which he scored 25 goals and finished with 41 points in 76 games.

"Anders has proven to be an effective goal scorer over his two seasons with the club," Islanders general manager Garth Snow said in a statement. "We're thrilled to have another home-grown talent signed long term."

The Islanders selected Lee in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL draft out of Notre Dame.

He finished fourth among NHL rookies in scoring in 2014-15.

"I'm extremely excited to finalize this deal and ensure that I'm a New York Islander for the next four seasons," Lee said in the statement. "The organization has been nothing but first class to me from the moment I was drafted. I look forward to competing for the Stanley Cup in each year while playing in front of the best fans in the NHL."

Information from ESPN.com's Craig Custance, Katie Strang and Pierre LeBrun was used in this report.
