GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham was expected to appear in front of a judge in a suburban Atlanta court Wednesday but his court date on a June DUI charge was pushed back.
Abraham's arraignment was rescheduled to Oct. 10 and 1 p.m. ET, according to the chief clerk at the Municipal Court of Brookhaven in Georgia. That date is a Friday and the Cardinals host the Washington Redskins two days later.
According to the clerk, Abraham's attorney is Mark Issa, who could submit a plea in abstentia for Abraham.
Abraham was arrested on June 29 and charged with DUI after officers found Abraham asleep behind the wheel of his black Dodge Challenger at an intersection in Brookhaven, Georgia. He refused to take an alcohol breath test.
Abraham missed most of the first three weeks of the Cardinals' training camp before reporting on Aug. 14. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Abraham spent time in a rehab facility while he was away from the team.
The Cardinals play Cincinnati on Sunday in both teams' third preseason game. On Monday, Arizona coach Bruce Arians said it's undecided if Abraham will play.
