Ndamukong Suh not fined by NFL

NFL, Detroit Lions

Ndamukong Suh may have been flagged for roughing Jacksonville quarterback Chad Henne last Friday, but the Detroit Lions defensive tackle will not be fined for the play.

Suh has a history of racking up fines for hitting quarterbacks, including Jake Delhomme, Jay Cutler, Matt Schaub, Brandon Weeden and Andy Dalton. On this particular play, Suh appeared to potentially lower his helmet into the chest of Henne after the Jaguars quarterback released the ball.

Suh's teammates said after last Friday's game that the hit appeared to be a clean one.

"I saw it. I thought it was a clean hit," Lions defensive tackle C.J. Mosley said. "Suh is Suh, he has that 'reputation.' I thought it was a clean hit."

Other than the quarterback fines, he was fined $100,000 last season for a block on Minnesota Vikings center John Sullivan and suspended two games in 2011 for stomping on Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith. He was also fined last season for making a throat-slashing gesture.

One other Detroit player, safety Jerome Couplin, was also not fined after a potential helmet-to-helmet hit against the Jaguars.
