Sources: Seahawks cut Pryor

NFL, Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have released quarterback Terrelle Pryor, league sources confirmed Friday night.

Pryor was acquired by the Seahawks in April from the Oakland Raiders for a seventh-round draft choice. He was hoping to make the team as a third quarterback.

Pryor took to Twitter on Friday night to express thanks:

Pryor played well at times in the preseason, including a 44-yard touchdown run against San Diego. He also threw a 33-yard touchdown pass Thursday night at Oakland against his former teammates.

But Pryor was inconsistent with his passes, also throwing two interceptions in the preseason.

Tarvaris Jackson is the Seahawks' No. 2 quarterback behind starter Russell Wilson. B.J. Daniels also is on the roster.
