Antonio Brown fined $8,200 for kick

BALTIMORE -- Pittsburgh Steelers star receiver Antonio Brown has been fined $8,200 for kicking Cleveland Browns punter Spencer Lanning in the face during a punt return, a source confirmed to ESPN.com on Thursday night.

Brown kicked Lanning in the face at the end of a 36-yard punt return in the Steelers' 30-27 win over the Browns last Sunday.

The play drew national attention and went viral on social media because it looked like Brown used a karate kick on Lanning.

Brown, who was penalized 15 yards for unnecessary roughness, tried to jump over Lanning and said he thought the second-year man would go lower on the tackle attempt.

Brown instead landed on Lanning's facemask, and the play spawned all kinds of spoofs that included scenes from the popular "Karate Kid" movies.

The $8,200 fine was reported earlier Thursday by the NFL Network.

Brown said earlier this week that he talked with Lanning after the game and told him that he didn't try to hurt him on the play.

But Lanning told Cleveland reporters on Wednesday that he never talked to Brown, though he added that he didn't have any hard feelings over the play.
