Richie Incognito 'for sure' a starter on O-line, Rex Ryan says

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- After nearly two years away from football, Richie Incognito is expected to start at left guard for the Buffalo Bills this season, coach Rex Ryan said Sunday.

"One thing for sure is Richie's a starter," Ryan said. "I mean, he looks about as good as any of them. He really does."

Incognito was "20 or 30 yards ahead of everybody else" in the Bills' conditioning test last Thursday, Ryan said, and is in better shape than even the head coach expected.

"I've been blown away by it," Ryan said.

Center Eric Wood also didn't hesitate to name Incognito a starter.

"I'm comfortable putting it in pen that he's a starter," Wood said Sunday.

Sunday's practice was the first time that Incognito had worn full pads since his last game in the NFL on Oct. 31, 2013.

"But to get out there thumping again, that was a lot of fun," Incognito said after practice. "Out there with your buddies, beating people up -- that's what I like to do."

Ryan also named Wood the starter at center and Cordy Glenn the starter at left tackle, which came as no surprise. He left the right guard job open, noting that he's been impressed by both rookie John Miller and Cyril Richardson.

The Bills' right tackle job remains up for grabs between Cyrus Kouandjio and Seantrel Henderson.
