Aaron Kromer thanks Bills for allowing him to return after arrest

NFL, Buffalo Bills

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer issued a brief statement to reporters before Monday evening's training camp practice, thanking the team for allowing him to return following his arrest last month.

"I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to be back here at training camp," Kromer said. "How grateful I am for [Bills owners] Terry Pegula, Kim Pegula, [team president] Russ Brandon, of course [coach] Rex [Ryan] for allowing me back to do my job.

"I'm sure everybody wants to hear what happened over the last couple of weeks. I'm not at liberty to talk about it. So all I can say right now is that I'm excited about being back here, working with the talent that we have on the offensive line and making them the best they can be this training camp and getting them ready for the season. That's my whole goal, that's my whole focus at this point and I'm excited to be able to do that. Thank you."

The Bills did not allow reporters to ask Kromer questions following the statement.

Prior to Kromer taking the podium, Ryan deferred comment on the situation to Kromer.

"I think talking specifics wouldn't help anybody, but it's a privilege to coach in this league. There's no question about it," Ryan said. "So the standards are set pretty high about this league and things like that. As they should be."

Kromer was suspended for the first six games of the regular season by the Bills but will remain with the team through training camp and the preseason.
