Andrew Luck takes majority of Colts' practice snaps Tuesday

INDIANAPOLIS -- Colts quarterback Andrew Luck threw and took the majority of the snaps in practice Tuesday, giving the indication that he is on track to play in Thursday's game against the Texans.

"[I'm getting] better every day," Luck said. "Good to be out there and be outside ... Prepared to start and play. Again, a chance to go up against a really good football team in the Texans. That's the preparation mindset."

Luck, who missed his first NFL game against the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, was technically listed as "limited" in Tuesday's practice, according to coach Chuck Pagano.

But Tuesday also was the first time that Pagano acknowledged Luck threw in practice.

"If I'm playing, I do not expect to be hindered," Luck said.

Veteran Matt Hasselbeck started in Luck's place last Sunday and led the Colts to a 16-13 overtime victory over the Jaguars. Hasselbeck missed practice Tuesday because he was sick.

Luck said he's not sure if his passes have the same amount of zip on them as before he injured shoulder against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 27.

"That's a good question," he said. "I think I've gotten better every day. Don't think I'm necessarily where I want to be today in the perfect, perfect world. But better every day."

The key for Luck is that he doesn't have any setbacks between Tuesday and Thursday.

"Every day that he's been coming in, getting treatment and throwing," Pagano said. "Wait until the next morning when he comes in and sees how he feels and things like that. Every day it gets better and better. So there are no setbacks."
