Marshawn Lynch out for consecutive games for first time with Seahawks

NFL, Seattle Seahawks, Cincinnati Bengals

RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks have ruled running back Marshawn Lynch out for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a hamstring injury.

It will be the first time since Lynch joined the team in 2010 that he will miss consecutive games.

"He is running very well," said coach Pete Carroll. "However, it's just two weeks now, and he's just getting over it. We've seen some guys around the league try to come back. He could try to come back and play, but we think he'd be vulnerable. He needs another weekend to get through it, and then by next week, by Wednesday or something, we think we can get him going again."

Carroll clarified that Lynch has a hamstring strain with some tissue damage. Lynch was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, but for the second straight week, he has been ruled out two days before the game.

The Seahawks go into the matchup thin at running back. Aside from Lynch, Fred Jackson is questionable with a high ankle sprain. Carroll said Jackson will test the ankle out Sunday morning, and the team is optimistic that he will be able to play.

Undrafted rookie Thomas Rawls will likely be given the bulk of the workload for Seattle again. Rawls ran 17 times for 48 yards last week against the Detroit Lions. He is averaging 4.5 yards on 35 carries this season.
