Marshawn Lynch to see specialist

SEATTLE -- Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch will see a specialist Monday in Philadelphia for the abdomen injury that kept him inactive for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Coach Pete Carroll said there is no diagnosis yet and a sports hernia has not been ruled out.

"Nothing is ruled out at this point. We'll just have to wait and see," Carroll said. "This will be a really important couple of days for him.

"The surgery thing is always an option in there. There's some other things that they'll take a look at."

In Lynch's place, undrafted rookie Thomas Rawls ran for 209 yards on 30 carries with a touchdown as the Seahawks beat the 49ers 29-13.

Lynch was listed as questionable Friday, and Carroll said he thought the running back would be able to play. But Lynch couldn't get going during pregame warmups and missed his third game of the season.

He sustained the injury during practice leading up to the Seahawks' Week 10 game against the Arizona Cardinals but started that game and played 79 percent of the team's offensive snaps.

Lynch has also dealt with calf, hamstring and neck issues. He had missed only one game in the previous five seasons.
