ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates discusses the Packers' move to further shore up their defensive line by signing DT Letroy Guion, and whether Green Bay will bring back B.J. Raji as well. (2:01)

GREEN BAY, Wis. - A year ago, Letroy Guion faced an uncertain future in the NFL.

Now, he has a long-term deal.

The Green Bay Packers re-signed the veteran defensive tackle Friday. Sources told ESPN that the three-year deal is worth $11.25 million, and Guion could also earn an additional $500,000 in incentives.

Guion was scheduled to become a free agent next month.

Guion is the second defensive lineman the Packers have signed in advance of free agency. In December, Mike Daniels agreed to a four-year, $41 million extension. Daniels, like Guion, would have been a free agent in March.

Another defensive lineman, B.J. Raji., is also scheduled to become a free agent next month.

Guion played last season under a one-year, $2.75 million contract. He had been in negotiations with the Packers about a long-term deal, but those talks were shelved when Guion was arrested in February 2015 for possession of marijuana in his hometown of Starke, Florida. Instead, Guion was forced to settle for a short-term deal after he paid a $5,000 fine as part of a plea agreement.

After serving a three-game NFL suspension to start the season, Guion played in all remaining regular-season games plus both playoff games.

In two seasons with the Packers, the 28-year-old Guion has four sacks (including playoffs) and 65 tackles. He spent the six seasons of his career with the Minnesota Vikings before signing consecutive one-year deals with the Packers.
