RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Thursday that running back Thomas Rawls and tight end Jimmy Graham are on track to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season.

"We're thinking that that's real possible, yeah," Carroll said. "That's what we're thinking. We have to avoid setbacks obviously, but we're kind of counting on that."

Rawls fractured his ankle and suffered ligament damage in December. Graham sustained a ruptured patellar tendon in late November.

During Thursday's practice, Graham jogged lightly and caught passes from the quarterbacks during warm-ups. Rawls spent the session on the sideline.

"Those guys are both making really good progress," Carroll said. "Thomas is running, and Jimmy's back to running on the field for the first time in the last couple days, which is great."

Asked if Rawls would be ready for training camp, Carroll added, "I think we'll probably ease into training camp with both guys. Jimmy's a little farther behind than Thomas. We won't rush him at that time. We'll just use all the six weeks or something in there, and we'll see what we can take advantage of."

Graham had 48 catches for 605 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games last season. The coaches said that they felt like he was starting to find a rhythm with quarterback Russell Wilson before the injury.

Wilson sounded optimistic about having Graham on the field in Week 1.

"Jimmy's healing really fast and he's getting out there, catching footballs as much as he can," Wilson said. "Just the communication in the meetings and all that, he's on it as good as can be. He's a great friend. He's a guy that is so competitive, in a good way, too. He's a fighter. So he wants to get back on the field quickly.

"He's going to be back sooner, I think, than people think. I think he'll be ready to go. He looks really, really good, as you guys probably saw today, catching and moving a little bit. Not too much, but just the right amount."
