On Thursday morning, a few hours after getting off a red-eye flight from Las Vegas, I headed into New York for the unveiling of J.J. Watt's new signature training shoe.
However, Reebok did not just unveil the shoe, but also had journalists work out with Watt himself. The workout included some of his signature training moves, including box jumps and tire flips.
The Houston Texans star and three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year was not exactly happy with my performance during the clinic, as I was standing in the back, checking ESPN.com, Twitter and Instagram.
He finally called me out and persuaded me to flip a tire, as you can see in the video above. His response: "Now go back to business tweeting, quick! The world needs you!"
After the workout, Watt gave me a handwritten note that says, in part, "When you hear the term 'explosive athlete,' Darren Rovell is of course the first name that comes to mind."
