Texas governor compares Cowboys' D to Mexican border

Dallas Cowboys

Judging from a tweet from his personal account on Sunday night, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was unhappy with the Dallas Cowboys' defense at the end of their 26-20 overtime loss to the New Orleans Saints, and he used a contentious and topical political issue to make his point.

As of 12:30 a.m. ET Monday, the tweet had more than 1,000 retweets.

After the Cowboys tied the score late in the fourth quarter on a Brandon Weeden-to-Terrance Williams touchdown pass, the Saints won just 13 seconds into overtime on an 80-yard touchdown from Drew Brees to C.J. Spiller.

Abbott has previously drawn media attention for musing whether the Cowboys would sign Tim Tebow after Tony Romo suffered a broken collarbone in Week 2.
