Ducks move up CFB Vegas Ranks

Insider College Football, Oregon Ducks, Mississippi St. Bulldogs, Baylor Bears, Florida State Seminoles, Alabama Crimson Tide

Welcome to the College Football Vegas Rankings as we enter Week 13 of the season.

For the first time in a number of weeks, we have a team that has sole possession of the first overall spot with a combined score of a perfect 50. After beating Mississippi State, at the time the No. 1 team in the country, Alabama leads the CFB Vegas Ranks entering the most crucial part of the season.

Two of the biggest winners from Week 12 include Wisconsin, which moved up 2½ points, and Arkansas, which moved up a full three points after its shutout win against LSU.

The CFB Vegas Rankings are the composite power ratings of a panel of professional handicappers and college football statisticians, including fellow Insider Phil Steele, Brian Edwards and Bruce Marshall of The Gold Sheet. The ratings are intended to weigh the relative strength of the teams if they met on a neutral field and to be compared to the point spread on a given game.

For example, if Alabama and Florida State were to play on a neutral field this week, the Crimson Tide would be considered a four-point favorite by our ratings.

Here's a look at the 25 best teams in college football right now, according to Las Vegas.

College Football Vegas Rankings

1. Alabama Crimson Tide (Power rating: 50)

Alabama may be creeping up the rankings in both the College Football Playoff as well as ours, but for bettors, Alabama is still just 2-7-1 ATS or 3-7 ATS, depending on closing lines this season. In the previous two seasons, Alabama has been very mediocre ATS with records of 7-6 and 7-7.

Previous rating: 49

2. Oregon Ducks (47.5)

Oregon is a home favorite against Colorado this week and it has beaten the Buffaloes 172-32 in their past three meetings. Oregon has won and covered its past five games following its loss against Arizona in Week 6.
