College football's top young recruiters

Football Recruiting, Ohio State Buckeyes, Clemson Tigers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Western Michigan Broncos, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers

With social media, marketing and bulked-up staffs, recruiting is the area where young coaches can make their marks. Right now, some of the best recruiters in the game are under the age of 40 and are creating their own identities and philosophies.

Top Recruiters Under 40

Jeff Scott

Clemson co-offensive coordinator
Age: 34

Philosophy: It's all about relationships.

Scott's plan: "Prospects and families are looking for coaches that they can trust and coaches that they believe will care about them more as a person than just a player. What I try to do as a recruiter is develop relationships with that young man and his family and with everybody around him that's part of his inner circle. I can tell pretty early in the process if that young man or that family are Clemson people and if they would be a great fit. Any time we can see that early in the process, we know we're going to spend a lot of time and energy on that family."
