Summer recruiting predictions

We are now more than halfway through the spring evaluation period and several teams have already made a big impression after the recruiting window opened on April 15. While we're still a long, long way from national signing day on Feb. 3, 2016, it's never way too early to predict how some teams will fare the rest of the spring and summer on the recruiting trail.

Ohio State will wrap up the Big Ten's best class before summer ends

The Buckeyes already own the third-best recruiting class in the country behind Florida State and Miami and it's shaping up to be a special class in Columbus. Yes, Ohio State is going to have to fight to keep No. 1-ranked running back Kareem Walker on board, but even without him, Ohio State would have the top class in the Big Ten and that's not going to change all the way to signing day. No matter what Michigan, Penn State or other conference rivals do the rest of the way, if Ohio State does what it normally does in the summer and land a few more top-flight Midwest prospects like linebacker Brendan Ferns, tight end Luke Farrell and defensive end Prince Sammons, then the race for the Big Ten's best class will be over before it really even started.
