Spring's biggest lessons

The spring evaluation period has come and gone and like every other recruiting cycle plenty of lessons were learned. Coaches hit the recruiting trail and were able to make their first official phone calls to prospects, and more than 40 ESPN 300 prospects came off the board. Here are 10 things the past 45 days have taught us about the Class of 2016.

1. We're going to have to wait until the Under Armour All-America Game to hear what No. 1 ranked Rashan Gary is going to do. The five-star defensive tackle flirted with making a commitment early in the spring, but by the time May rolled around, it was clear he's not in a huge rush to make a decision. Still, the upcoming summer months will be key for Gary, as he plans to visit Ole Miss on June 11th, Alabama on June 12th and Auburn on June 13th. Following those visits, Gary will return home to New Jersey to finish school on June 23rd before taking off again to visit Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Notre Dame.
