Colorado Buffaloes

2013-14: 23-12 (10-8 Pac-12)
In-conference offense: 1.01 points per possession (10th)
In-conference defense: 1.03 points allowed per possession (6th)

In effect, the 2014-15 Colorado Buffaloes season kicked off nine months early. On Jan. 12, Colorado was playing at Washington when junior guard Spencer Dinwiddie stepped awkwardly and went down. An MRI confirmed what the Buffaloes already suspected: Dinwiddie had torn his left ACL, thereby ending his 2013-14 season.

At the time, Colorado was 14-2 -- the program's best start since 1968-69 -- with wins over top-10 opponents Kansas and Oregon. Without Dinwiddie, the Buffaloes went 7-8 in conference play, but a pair of wins in the Pac-12 tournament were enough to earn their third consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament, which made Colorado the only Pac-12 school to reach the NCAA tournament in all three seasons since the conference's expansion.
