Kansas State is trending up

Kansas State Wildcats

2013-14: 20-13 (10-8)
In-conference offense: 1.05 points per possession (eighth)
In-conference defense: 1.04 points per possession (third)

Last year at this time, there was concern about Bruce Weber's 2013 recruiting class, which featured nary a four-star prospect among the six signed to play.

As it turned out, things weren't so bad after all. The Wildcats managed to get a No. 9 seed in the NCAA tournament, and while most of the credit for that accomplishment goes to the returning core of experienced players, K-State wouldn't have had the success it did without the surprising production of freshman guard Marcus Foster.
