South Florida survives UAB, 73-71 in OT

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Chris Perry scored 18 points on 8-of-17 shooting, Anthony Collins added 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists, and South Florida outlasted UAB in overtime Thursday night, 73-71.

With the game tied at 70 with 25 seconds to go in the extra frame, South Florida's Corey Allen Jr. made a layup to give the Bulls what would effectively be the game winning basket. UAB would have one final opportunity to tie, but Chris Cokley missed the second of two free throws with 10 seconds remaining. Allen then made 1-of-2 at the line to ice the game.

Allen finished with seven points, eight rebounds, and four assists for the Bulls (3-0), who shot 53.6 percent from the field.

C.J. Washington and Tyler Madison each scored 17 points to lead the Blazers. Washington added seven rebounds and Robert Brown finished with 14 points for UAB (1-2)
