Colgate holds off Lehigh, 61-55

HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Ethan Jacobs, Matt McMullen, and Damon Sherman-Newsome each scored 11 points, with Jacobs and McMullen adding eight rebounds apiece, to help lead Colgate to a 61-55 victory over Lehigh on Saturday.

The win gives Colgate three in its final four games to close out the season, and clinches the second seed in the upcoming Patriot League tournament. The Raiders had an opportunity with a Bucknell loss to clinch the number one seed, but the Bison beat American University 71-69 on Saturday.

Austin Tillotson added eight points for the Raiders (15-16, 12-6), who shot 50 percent from the field and hit 12 3-pointers.

Colgate led 42-32 at halftime and used an 11-2 run in late in the second half to put the game away after Lehigh had cut the lead to two.

Tim Kempton led Lehigh (16-13, 10-8) with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
