Kent State wins at Kennesaw State 58-46

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Devareaux Manley scored 14 points and Derek Jackson had a career-high 11 assists in his first start at point guard in leading Kent State to a 58-46 victory over Kennesaw State on Saturday.

Jimmy Hall and Kris Brewer added 12 points each for Golden Flashes (5-2), who shot 43.1 percent from the floor but were better from 3-point range, making 9 of 19.

Orlando Coleman and Bernard Morena had 10 points each for the Owls (3-5), who shot only 32.6 percent, including 26.3 percent in the second half.

Jackson, a redshirt senior, is the first player to have at least 10 assists in a game since Chris Singletary against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Dec. 30, 2009.

Kent State led 31-27 at the half and went up 54-43 with 5:19 left in the game. Kennesaw State scored just three points the rest of the way.
